House Numbers Please!

The village has two new employees and I am asking if you would pass the word to install a house number on your property that is visible from the street.  It helps with utility billing and other issues.  I realize it may not happen until spring but please pass the word!

UTILITY BILLS

REMINDER-Payments for utility bills can be mailed, put in the drop box outside of clerk’s office during library hours or if after hours, dropped in the bookdrop on the East side of the library!  That box is checked daily!  The same will apply with tax payments!

Thanksgiving Holiday-CLOSED

The Village office will be closed on Thursday Nov. 28 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  On Friday Nov 29 the office will be open for only a few hours to take care of most important business. Happy Thanksgiving to everybody!

Budget Hearing/Adoption

2020 Budget hearing and adoption will be held on Monday Nov. 11, 2019 at 5:30 pm at the Jean M. Thomsen Memorial Library.  The regular monthly board meeting will follow the budget meeting.  See meeting notices for budget spreadsheet.

Avoid special charges on your tax bill!

Tax Time will be here before you know it!  To avoid any special charges on your tax bill, please pay all utility bills on time to avoid having these placed on your real estate tax bill.  Remember, all special charges are paid before the money received is applied to the actual tax bill.

Hello!

Hello,

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Jan Tischendorf.  I started as the new clerk/treasurer for the Village on August 13, 2019.  I am finding my way around the office and learning the new software and am really enjoying being back in the municipal office.

I was previously the (elected) clerk in the Town of Holton, East of Dorchester for over 32 years, resigning only after I moved out of the township in April 2018. In addition to being town clerk,  I previously was employed  full-time as the accountant at Meyer Buildings for over 24 years.

My hobbies include gardening/flowerbedding, riding my motorcycle and bicycle, crafts, going for long walks and of course, fishing.  If it were so easy, they would call it catching, but I still like to go fishing!

I look forward to meeting many of you.  Office hours will remain 9 am to 2:30 pm Monday through Friday.  However, I am in the office most mornings by 7:30 am.  There will be additional hours posted during tax collection season.  Watch for those extra hours posted here!

A reminder, utility payments can be mailed, dropped off in the slot outside of the office when the library is open or if the library is closed, use the bookdrop on the east side of the Library Building.

Enjoy the Fall!  We all know what is next!
